“1.4m Naira For Diesel”- Paul Okoye Decries The Increase In Cost Of Living

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has lamented about the exorbitant cost of living in Nigeria especially with the increase in price of diesel.

In a post on his Instagram story on Wednesday, March 16th,  the singer said he spends ₦1.4 million on diesel to fuel his generator.

He however didn’t state if the amount was spent weekly or monthly.

“Ordinary house, I’m spending 1.4m naira for diesel. (Generator and Diesel) the new luxury,” he wrote.

Nigerians have been thrown into untold hardship since the start of this month due to fuel scarcity resulting in a hike in price.

There has also been an increase in transportation with the poor masses being at the receiving end.

A few weeks ago, Nigerian singer Waje decried the current state of fuel scarcity in the country, saying she will marry any man that supplies her fuel.

“For those asking for my hand in marriage, the most important item on the list is 100 litres of fuel. I can manage 50.
In short, my family will accept 25 sef.

Even if you did not ask, because of Fuel (what you have in your hand! Holy!) you’ll gain a God-fearing, demon chasing, heaven awaiting spouse. HELP”

Paul Okoye is a member of the Psquare group. He performs alongside his brother Peter Okoye aka Mr P.

The brothers parted ways five years ago reconciled in November last year.

They went on to host their reconciliation concert in December 2021, with a large number of their fans in attendance.
