Multichoice, organisers of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija has announced the premiere date for the much-anticipated Season 6.The fan-favorite show will have two separate opening ceremonies this year; on the 24th and 25th of July, 2021.

With the ever-dapper Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as host, the show will run for 72 days this year, ending on October 3rd.

There are also some new twists added to BBNaija season 6, Multichoice announced in a press conference.

SMS by voting has been cancelled. Instead of voting by SMS, fans will now be able to vote through BBNajia’s website and also an app for that purpose. This is in order to have a more inclusive show, enabling fans who are not in Nigeria to vote as well.

Additionally, Showmax just like last year will offer exclusive viewing for subscribers for fans in the diaspora.

In adherence to Covid 19 rules, there would be no guests for this year’s show as it was with the Lockdown edition of last year.

This year’s edition will see the winner go home with a whopping ₦90 million. This is the biggest price since the show debuted in 2006.

Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbeleshe won last year’s edition of the show. Laycon had received the ₦85 million grand prize which includes a cheque of ₦30 million, a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from Innoson Motors. He also got a luxury two-bedroom apartment by Revolution Properties.
