Niniola’s “Maradona” Now Certified Gold In South Africa

The South African Recording Industry announced the big news on August 3, 2020.

Niniola who only a few weeks ago became a member of the Recording Academy took to her Instagram to share yet another milestone that she’s achieved with Maradona.

“Yassss MARADONA has been certified GOLD in South Africa and is fast heading for a platinum…

Thanks Mzansi 🇿🇦 ☺☺ Thanks @recordingindustryofsouthafrica … 1st of many to come 💪💪💪” she captioned the post.

She also announced that her new song is coming this Friday.

In June 2021, Niniola received A Grammy Certificate for her contribution to Beyonce’s “Lion King: The Gift” album.

Niniola in 2019 had announced that her hit song “Maradona” made its way to Beyonce’s album as a contributor to the song, “Find Your Way Back”.

Describing “Maradona” as the song that keeps giving back, the Queen of Afro-House couldn’t hold back her joy as she shared big news.

Niniola Apata’s music career started in 2013 when she participated in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa.

She then released her debut single, “Ibadi” in 2014. For this, she received a nomination for the Most Promising Act To Watch category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

She has since released hit singles including “Maradona”, “Sicker”, “Bana” and, most recently,“Omo Rapala”. In December 2020, she also featured in Falz’s song “Squander”.
