Grammy award-winning Nigerian afrofusion singer Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy says hypocrisy is the reason why Nigeria hasn’t legalised weed or marijuana.
While in an interview with Home Grown Radio in Los Angeles, Burna Boy said he believes hypocrisy is the reason it has not been legalised in Nigeria because everyone smokes weed.
“It’s not a zero-tolerance. It’s like everybody does it, but no one wants to be the one that is seen with it. Just kind of hypocritical out there. Everybody smokes weed,” Burna Boy said.
The “Ye” singer also explained that the misconception around the drug is another major reason why it is yet to be legalised.
“It’s like some dumb sh*t, bro. You know those old s**t when they talk about it frying your brains. They try to make it seem like if you smoke it, you will go mad,” the singer said.
