Google Announces Its ‘Material You Design’ To Android Developers

Material You Design has been announced today at Google’s Android Developer Summit, showing off new colour systems and visualizations. The company is making it easier for Android developers to use them in their apps.

Android 12 design language is a whole new design that is both minimal and colourful. Google’s Material You Design is available via the Jetpack compose, for developers. The tech company says app developers can quickly draft the design in all their apps.

Android 12, Google’s latest smartphone OS update will be available for select Pixel phones first, with support for other Android phones later. Google says it will be available in the “next few weeks” according to its post from its Developers site.

Google "officially releases" Android 12 but the update for Pixels is only arriving "in the next few weeks" – Droid News

Pixel smartphones eligible for the new update are Pixel 3, 3A, 4, 4A, 4A 5G, 5 and 5A. The released Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will ship with the new update out of the box. The company has pushed the Android 12 source to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) since October 4 2021. It also says Android 12 will be available for Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi smartphones later this year.

Also, its Developers Summit holds from October 27-28. So what’s new for Android 12? Google has released a new UI based on a new design language called Material You.
