Grammy award American singer Lady Gaga has shared how she went fully into method acting as Patrizia Reggiani for the upcoming Ridley Scott film “House of Gucci”.
The Oscar winner, 35, revealed in a profile for British Vogue that she spent almost a year perfecting Reggiani’s Italian accent for the drama.
The singer embodied Reggiani by dyeing her hair brown, taking up photography and talking with an Italian accent for nine months.
“It is three years since I started working on it,” Gaga said. “And I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as Reggiani for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that. Off-camera, I never broke. I stayed with her.”

The cast of the film includes Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto. “House of Gucci” chronicles the aftermath of Patrizia’s plot to kill her husband Maurizio Gucci (played by Driver).
Gaga explained that she went so deep into the character, that she found it hard to come back from it after filming wrapped.
“I had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming,” she said. “I was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her.”
The “Chromatica” crooner added, “I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn’t taken a walk in about two months, and I panicked. I thought I was on a movie set.”
“House of Gucci” will debut in theatres on 24th November.
