Apple will be releasing a Mac level kind of AR headset coming next year according to a report from analyst Ming-chi Kuo. The analyst has been known to predict Apple’s unreleased gadgets and events.
This new augmented reality headset would have two processors according to analyst Kuo, one with “the same level of computing power as M1” that’s Apple first Mac chip. The other processor will have a lower power to handle sensors.
Apple’s first AR Headset will have “at least 6-8 optical modules to simultaneously provide continuous video see-through AR services.” That is a lot of tech for an AR headset, typical of a Cupertino based company.
Reports from Nikkei says Apple would be using its own iPhone modem designs in the year 2023. The Chinese reporting page has a high rating of predicting Apple’s events and products.

The reports say that Apple would ditch Qualcomm to work with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company TSMC for its 2023 iPhone 5G modems. Qualcomm has already said it would be making just 20 percent of the iPhone modem in two years time.
Apple’s in-house made chip will reduce its reliance on other chip manufacturers while improving its software and hardware integration. It is turning out to be an interesting race for the most efficient mobile and desktop chip processors.
Kuo also says that this “Mac-level (PC-level) computing power” will be using Sony’s 4K OLED microdisplays, two to be exact. He believes that the Headset will work independently of an iPhone, making use of its own ecosystem.
