Sony has finally launched its Xperia 5 III smartphone in the United States nine months after the company released it in Japan. The Sony Xperia 5 III is a smaller version of the Xperia 1 III, but the US version of the phone is different from that of Japan’s.
There are some upgrades by Sony, including a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, Android 11 and a beefier 4,5000mAh battery. Also, the US variant has 5G connectivity, benefiting from the vast options of 5G connections in the States.
Just like Japan’s Xperia 5 II, the 5 III has a 120Hz 6.1-inch display with three rear 12 Megapixel cameras which includes a main, ultrawide and telephoto. Well, these cameras can shoot 120fps 4K footage in HDR. Sony has slapped a high $999 for this flagship smartphone.

Sony has ambitiously announced the world’s first QD-OLED 4K TV, coming to consumers later this year 2022. The company previously sourced panels from LG Display and fine-tuned them with its own processing.
QD-OLED is known as quantum dot organic light-emitting diode, made from Samsung Display and is considered to be better than LG’s OLED X. The ‘Bravia XR A95K TV’ will be available in both 65 and 55-inches shipping with 4K resolution.
Despite Sony beefing up the specifications of the Xperia 1 III; it will still be behind other flagships shipping with Qualcomm’s newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor. Who doesn’t like freebies? Sony is adding a pair of its WF-1000XM3 earbuds and 43,200 Call of Duty: Mobile CP points all for free on orders placed before February 27 2022.
