Seasoned Nollywood actress Omotala Jalade-Ekeinde and media superstar Toke Makinwa are set to star as lead characters in Ifan Micheal’s period film “Singing Sin”.
The feature film set in the 1980s will see Jalade-Ekeinde and Toke Makinwa portray gutsy female characters determined to achieve their dreams against all odds
Speaking on the film, Ifan Micheal told GQ in a recent interview that he’s been very interested in telling the stories of women in the 70s.
“I’ve always been intrigued by the lives of women in the 70’s, what it felt like at that time. I wanted to approach the subject matter musically. But also to explore some really important themes like self-image, ambition and the complexities of relationships,” the “Foriegners’ God” director revealed.

Speaking on the role, Ekeinde shared:
“I am always happy to see projects that are women inclusive, both in front and behind the camera. And that keeps pushing the envelope with the stories they tell. These are the stories that I have always championed and will continue to champion. And with Singing Sin, we have an opportunity to dive into that world. A world controlled by women, each with their different journeys.”
Ifan Micheal was recently featured on the creative list of Forbes Africa 30 under 30.
Meanwhile, principal photography for “Singing Sin” has already begun.
