Twitter announces that it is working on a “CC” or auto caption button for videos and has begun rolling it out for iOS users.
From Friday, 22 April 2022, some iOS users will be able to watch Twitter videos with the “CC” or closed caption feature that makes viewing experience better. The button would have the on and off switch for people who may like it for some content and not for some others.
Video captions or no captions, it’s now easier to choose for some of you on iOS, and soon on Android.

As the video above shows, the button will be accessible from the upper-right corner of a video. No doubt, this will improve user experience for people with hearing difficulty of Twitter users who are completely deaf.
Of course, sometimes, due to differing accents, the “CC” feature has completely ruined videos because the AI cannot hear what the characters are saying correctly. (This has happened quite a lot on YouTube videos)
Hopefully, Twitter used a large number of accents database when building its own auto caption feature. For now, only some iOS user can see the feature but it is coming to everyone, including Android users, soon.
