Jack Dorsey, loved by some and hated by others, has, on 29 April 2022, admitted to being at fault for some of the company’s failings in regards to permanently banning accounts. He adds that he believes the platform is headed in the right direction now, under Tesla boss Elon Musk.
In a thread, Dorsey took responsibility for the company’s decisions admitting that they were wrong in some cases and may have gone ‘too far’ in others. He added that Twitter should have been more transparent with its policy and operations.
“Whether it’s owned by a company or an open protocol doesn’t matter _as much as_ deliberately deciding to be open about every decision and why it was made. It’s not easy to do, but it must happen,” part of his statement read.

In the concluding part of his thread, he reaffirmed his stand on kicking people off the platform, “as I’ve said before, I don’t believe any permanent ban (with the exception of illegal activity) is right, or should be possible.”
Comments under the Tweets include several users accusing Jack of political activism and manipulating election results by shadowbanning conservative politicians and other ‘questionable acts.’
Jack Dorsey went around for about an hour after his Tweet, replying to some queries, answering some critics, liking Tweets, etc. He had said he wanted to take a break from Twitter, and the takeover must have dragged him back into active participation again.
Likely when things are finalised, he would be able to take some time off finally. We will see about that.
