Elon Musk believes that he can take Twitter revenue to a whopping $26 billion from the $5 billion it made in 2021 by 2028. According The New York Times, which obtained the pitch deck, the world’s richest man plans to do this through a subscription model and ad revenue.
Part of the plan is to increase users of Twitter Blue, the platform’s subscription branch, to 159 million by 2028. Although, he adds that a signpost to his success would be him getting the number of users to 69 million first in 2025.
Besides Twitter Blue, the new Twitter owner says that there will be another sub service which should take off instantly and have about 9 million users next year (2023) and 104 users in 2028.

All in all, his pitch marks $10 billion of the $26 billion revenue to be coming from Twitter subscriptions and the other $16 billion is to be placed on the neck of ads, data licensing, and some other sort of payments business.
Already, Twitter is making billions from ads but the Tesla boss wants to take it up to $12 billion or more in 2028. Part of his plan to do this includes increasing the number of people using the platform by removing restrictions. It is part of why he has been advocating for ‘freedom of speech’ on the platform. He believes that under his leadership, he can have 600 million users by 2025 and 931 million by 2028.
With this 300% growth, ad revenue should more than double in the next seven years.
And this is not all. Some of the other payments business mentioned earlier likely includes a model that allows fans to tip creators, Super Follows, shopping features for vendors, and so on.
To achieve this, the tech billionaire might need to get in the driver’s seat as CEO and he already has plans to increase employees by an additional 3,600.
