Truecaller has announced Open Doors, an audio chat app that works for Android and iOS users. The app is free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This move signifies that the caller identification platform is officially dipping its toes into the competitive world of social media services.
According to a Gadgets 360 report, the app was developed by the company’s teams in Stockholm and India. It will work seamlessly across iOS and Android devices, making it one to look out for. When this article was published, the app only had about 100+ downloads on Google Play Store. Likely, not many people have heard of it yet.

The mechanism behind Open Doors should be pretty simple. You must first download it and sign up to start using the platform. Interestingly, you don’t need a Truecaller account to use its audio chat app. Instead, you can register by verifying your phone number through a missed call or an OTP. Those with Truecaller accounts may not need this extra process.
After you are logged in, you will have to give Open Doors permission to access your contact list and microphone. This way, you can connect with your friends and enjoy real-time audio chats.
Users in a conversation will not be able to see the phone numbers of other participants to protect their privacy. However, once you invite a friend to join a chat, their friends will be invited too, the app description says. Also, your friends will be notified that you are online when you are in a conversation.
