Fans of the TV show Warrior Nun are trending the hashtag #cancelNetflix in a bid to pressure the streaming platform after it canceled it. Simon Barry, the show’s creator broke the news on Tuesday via a tweet.

The decision has been called bizarre by many, including Collider’s Shane Romanchick in a piece on the outlet. And it comes after the show’s second season was released with as little fanfare as possible on November 10, 2022.

When compared to the promotion that went (and is still going) into the release of Wednesday, around the same time, it is clear that the fantasy drama series did not have Netflix’s usual backing.
Based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by artist Ben Bunn, the TV show has become a fan favourite for many reasons, including its fast-paced action sequences, cinematography and arousing dialogues. With high Rotten Tomatoes audience score, it is clear that the show has the viewership necessary to assure its continuity.
For Barry, the fight to get it back on Netflix might be over as he confirmed that he and the production house behind the show, Reality Distortion Field, are trying to get Warrior Nun on another platform.
Meanwhile, fans are not giving up on their #SaveWarriorNun campaign. We have seen this kind of scenes played out before. In 2019, fans forced Netflix to renew Lucifer and we saw how the internet brought us Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Let’s see how Netflix acts on the reactions it caused when it canceled Warrior Nun.
