Basket mouth and Wife Elsie Ends Marriage After 12 Years

Popular Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basket mouth and his wife Elsie have ended their marriage of 12 years.

The “Papa Benji” creator took to his Instagram page on Thursday, December 22nd to break the news that shocked his followers.

Taking to his verified social media to announce their divorce, Basketmouth wrote, “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. 

“After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.

“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you,” he said.

Basketmouth and Elsie Okpocha got married in 2010. The couple is also proud parents to two other kids, a boy, and a girl.

In 2019, Elsie Okpocha, had revealed that her husband did not propose to her. Elsie made this revelation while being interviewed in “5 Years After”, a show produced by Wedding Channel Africa TV.

Basket Mouth, in his defence, said jokingly that Elsie has been a “thorn on his flesh” so he just wanted the wedding over. Therefore, there was no time to make a proper proposal.
