The new kid on the block, Rema, is taking over the music scene one track at a time. Rema, Mavin Records newly signed artist, recently released a four-track extended play dubbed “Freestyle EP”, and it’s on fire.
The EP has songs for music lovers and fans. With tracks titled, “Boulevard”, “American Love”, “Spiderman” and “Trap Out The Submarine”, he gives an innovative take as he spits out lyrics. Although critics wasted no time to jump on it, it has become number one on iTunes.
The Dumebi crooner broke out in March 2019 and has left fans no room to forget him. He also made waves on social media after he said he was better than Wizkid. This took a turn of mixed reactions as some people agreed while others were quick to attack the young artiste for his statement.
Prior to being a part of Mavin Records, he was known as a solid trap rapper among his peers. He was then discovered by Don Jazzy‘s brother, D’ Prince.
On his signing, D’Prince, the CEO of Jonzing World known for discovering young artistes, said:
“When I first heard Rema’s work I knew this was an artist I wanted the entire world listening to; his talent and artistry are so far beyond his years.”
Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has his Instagram feed littered with several freestyles. His label, therefore, took on the challenge to compile and clean-up some of them to make the 4-track Rema EP Freestyle project.
