Have You Tried The Bottle Cap Challenge?

There is a very interesting bottle cap challenge happening on Instagram. It has also gradually made its way to Twitter. Everyone is in on it and in case you haven’t, you should too.

 

The game became popular after American singer John Mayer participated. He took on the challenge and pretty much paved the way for everyone else. The singer then tagged Jason Statham who followed closely with some legendary martial arts moves.

It is no surprise that the challenge has blown up on social media as it has turned into the latest craze. Celebrities like Ryan Reynolds, Bruce Lee, Diplo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have partaken in the challenge.

 

 

The game is simple.

 

You just need a bottle with a lid loosely placed on its top and a phone ready to record. You can either set a timer or get somebody to press record on their phone. Mostly, you would probably need the same person to hold on to the bottle at the bottom so it is not visible on the recording.

 

The aim of the game is to kick the lid off the bottle in a clean sweep using a circular martial art kick. The kick is called the Roundhouse. It does look mighty easy but having tried it myself, I realised it took a considerable amount of skill. No, I did not hurt my neck trying it but a colleague did. You might want to first master the Roundhouse before attempting it so you don’t wound up with a trip to the emergency room.

 

Originally, the game started last month on 25th June. A Taekwondo fighter and instructor by the name Farabi Davletchin had posted his amazing kick trick. Statham’s slow-motion video quickly went viral after a neat bottle opening.

 

 

Mariah Carey

The latest celebrity who has gotten a lot of buzz from the challenge is the singing sensation, Mariah Carey. Legendary Carey pretty much took a different approach to the challenge and she beat everybody at their game.

 

With a very unique five-octave voice range, she occasionally shows off her singing skills in films and social media. This time, it came in handy on the latest viral internet challenge.

The diva, Carey, who we know likes to stand out, took a different twist to the challenge. Instead of kicking like everyone else, she stuck to what she’s best at, singing. In just a few seconds, the woman had the top off with just hitting some notes.

 

She posted a video on Twitter on Sunday, 7th July 2019, where she sings and the bottle cap mysteriously flies off. This most likely was as a result of her sonorous voice filling the air and moving the bottle to the verge of it spilling its top.
Trust Mariah to not bend it like Beckham but sing it like herself, Mariah Carey. We stan a queen.
