Nintendo’s latest mobile game has gotten a revenue of almost $100,000 after it got two million downloads in three days. The Dr Mario World game launched on iOS and Android devices on 9th July 2019.
The game sets a different tone from the original Tetris type, Dr Mario. It has a Candy Crush-style experience for mobile gamers.
The game starts free where players can go on without having to pay. At the start of the game, the users would have only five hearts to exhaust. The heart is restored after every 30 minutes. However, if you don’t want to have to wait, you would need to buy diamonds with real money.
The diamonds can be used to buy more life hearts. It can also be used to get more game features like speed and power-ups.
How Well is Dr Mario World Doing?
Dr Mario World is not the only Nintendo game that has gotten much attention in such a short time. Actually, compared to the others, it isn’t doing that great. For example, Fire Emblem Heroes got 4.9 million downloads and earned $11.6 million. Super Marion Run earned $6.5 million from 4.3 million downloads.
Game experts are, however, not surprised at how Dr Mario World is doing. They think it’s not as popular as the other Nintendo franchises. There is also the fact that the game did not get much pre-launch marketing.
Dr Mario World’s closest competition, very popular Candy Crush Friends Saga, earned $137,000 in its first 72 hours. This would mean the Nintendo game isn’t doing too badly considering that it is yet to get as much attention as its counterpart.
Another reason experts believe Dr Mario World would do great eventually is that it’s yet to be available globally. They think as the game starts to reach more countries, the downloads and eventually sales will get a rapid increase.
