The new partnership between Samsung and Microsoft may usher in a new instant messaging app. Both tech giants are looking to make it easier to send and receive text messages from the Windows computer. At the initial phase, the idea is to integrate Microsoft’s “Your Phone” app into Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 10.
The new Samsung DeX platform now means that the Samsung smartphone would work more seamlessly with a Windows computer. This platform is one of the bases upon which the partnership between Samsung and Microsoft will stand.
Some users are stuck on their iPhones because of the iMessage app. They cannot bear to lose the ability to send text messages on their computers. To compete against this and draw in more Apple users to the Android market, these two tech giants are making a similar feature.
Microsoft, on its end, has already designed an app to let users receive and send texts from their Android phones. They can use the app called Your Phone on their Widows PCs. However, the app was not very seamless. It was not as great as Apple’s iMessage app.
Samsung is now building Microsoft’s Your Phone connectivity into the new Galaxy Note 10. It will make it easier for Note 10 devices to connect to the Windows computer. At some point, the app will make it possible to make calls from the Windows computer. It will also be possible to mirror the Galaxy 10 screen onto the computer with a USB cable.
Google has also made a similar solution available on the Android operating system. The tool makes it possible to send text messages from the Chrome web browser on the computer. The solution works on every Chrome web browser and any Android device.
