Just in case you have decided to give up on the internet, here is one very good reason not to. This site may not be new to some as it has been around for a few years. However, if you are only just hearing of it, we are glad to be of help.

Radio Garden is like God’s gift to the internet. It is like Google Earth but with an extra and important feature – radio. The website and app alike give you access to the world in just one click. With nearly 10,000 accessible stations, anyone can listen to a radio station anywhere. Radio Garden shows the world globe in 3D with green dots showing you radio stations you can tune in to.

You can click, drag around the globe or zoom in to any local radio station in the world. There is an option at the top left of the site that lets you switch between live streams, jingles, historical content and recorded interviews. It’s pretty amazing. You can literally listen to live stream radio broadcasts from anywhere ranging from China to India or even Australia. You can stay in tune with local radio stations from pretty much across the globe. It is also possible to favourite some stations that you discovered and would want to keep listening to.

Radio Garden launched in December 2016. It was created by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. An Android app is available on Google Play store. Recently, the iOS app was introduced early this year on the App Store. You can also simply go on the website to click into any country and listen in to world secrets. That is if you understand the language.

One fascinating fact is that you can, of course, listen to stations from any part of Nigeria. To be honest, you can literally listen to any radio station in the world. That bit cannot be overemphasised as that feeling of being able to access the world is priceless. You would understand it if you are from a country like Nigeria where your passport can’t take you to many places without a visa. You can now just jet off without a plane. Bliss!
