Two days after Nigerian singer Naira Marley clapped back at Twitter users who think he’s illiterate, the singer also called out the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at his show in Dubai.
In a short video posted on Instagram on Sunday, 1st September 2019, Naira Marley declared in Yoruba, “Ko ni da fun EFCC” at the show. This directly translates to “it shall not be well with the EFCC”.

However, on his Instagram page, the “Soapy” singer lamented that Nigerians are spending their money in Dubai, rather than in Nigeria.
Then he appealed to the Federal Government to stop harassing rich youths, saying the government should let them feel at home in their own country.

This is not Naira Marley’s first run-in with the EFCC. The police previously arrested the singer on Friday, 10th May 2019, for alleged credit card fraud.
Thereafter, the EFCC charged him to court. On Thursday, 30th May 2019, Naira Marley appeared before Justice Nicolas Oweibo of Federal High Court, Lagos for his bail hearing.
The court granted him the bail on the conditions of a two million naira bond. In addition, he was to provide two sureties. One was to have landed property and the other, a Civil Servant, not lower than a level 10 officer.
After perfecting his bail conditions, the court discharged Naira Marley’s case on Friday, 14th June 2019.
