It looks like a rocky road for iOS 13 users. Last week, Apple warned customers against using third-party keyboards. This was because they could gain full access to and transfer data over the internet without user permission. Now, the company has released an update to fix it. Apple rolled out iOS 13.1.1 to patch up the third-party keyboard issue and also to fix the battery drain issues users experienced after updating to iOS 13.
The iOS 13.1.1 release also resolves issues that could prevent the Apple iPhone from restoring from backup. In addition to that, it also improves Siri recognition on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. Furthermore, the release fixes a bug that could’ve led to slow syncing in Reminders.
With software releases come major bugs, and iOS 13.1.1 is Apple’s latest attempt to address the bugginess of its most recent major software release. But other issues remain.
A few days after Apple released iOS 13 on 19th September 2019, it released iOS 13.1 alongside iPadOS. The release of iOS 13.1 came just a few days after the launch of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. With the relatively easy-to-use OS, Apple made the iPhone faster, smarter, more private, more powerful and more secure.
New features include the gesture-based QuickPath keyboard, a tool to block unknown callers, new photo and video-editing tools, and a dedicated dark mode. There is also a minimal volume indicator, custom fonts inside apps, a new Siri voice and other subtle improvements.
Other features include quicker Wi-Fi and Bluetooth selection, new Maps tools, security features such as Sign in with Apple, and the ability to customise Memoji avatars. New tools in iPadOS will also make the iPad more productive.
