Nvidia To Launch New GPUs At Its GeForce Event On 1st September

Nvidia has announced that it has an event planned for 1st September 2020. The company had teased a big GeForce GPU announcement on 11th August 2020 via its Twitter account amid rumours that it will release RTX 3080.

 

 

The graphics card maker will broadcast the event, at 9AM PT/12PM ET on 1st September 2020. The event will feature Nvidia’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who will headline the event. Nvidia says, “Huang will highlight the company’s latest innovations in gaming and graphics.”

The expectations are that Nvidia will unveil the GeForce RTX 3000 series of cards at the event. The series is expected to include the to be the successor to the RTX 2080, the RTX 3080.

 

There are also rumours suggesting Nvidia might be planning to launch its new Ampere graphics cards on 9th September 2020. The idea is that the new GPUs will arrive in the same month of September as Nvidia’s event.

 

TweakTown also reports that Nvidia and its board partners’ RTX 3000 Series graphics cards could appear at the September 20200 launch.

 

Nvidia had unveiled its Ampere GPU architecture in May 2020. However, at that time, the graphics card was built for scientific computing, cloud graphics, and data analytics. Now that Nvidia is making it clear that its upcoming GeForce event will focus solely on gaming and graphics, it is unclear what the GPU can do for traditional gaming PCs.
