Awards are important because they are a recognition of people’s efforts. Artists, workers, and even students are presented with rewards to appreciate works.
Some times, awards for artists are usually done online through votes by the general public. This may open an avenue for artists to rig the votes and the winner ends up being someone who doesn’t deserve it.
Winning awards could make some people relax. This is because they feel they have achieved what they worked for and can slow down. It can have the negative influence of making them lose all they worked for by relaxing with their work.

The above quote summarises the feeling that people have when they receive awards. They begin to lose focus on what they are yet to achieve and focus more on what they have achieved.
Quality of Work May Drop After Winning An Award
This can make people lose passion and hunger for the works they hungered so much to do. After getting it, they begin working with the mind of being better than others. They soon forget the passion they once used to do the work and the quality of their work start to drop.
There are some singers, dancers, writers that have reduced in quality of their works after receiving prizes. Some have even faded away due to pride in getting the awards.
For some people who get nominated and do not get the award, it causes low self-esteem. They feel sad when other people are getting awards and they are not. It makes them feel like they are not good enough at what they do.
Meanwhile, they are sometimes better than people who actually get the award.It also turns competitions into a popularity contest. Some even pay and canvass for votes to get these awards if it is by votes. Bribery, in order to win, is not uncommon. This makes people turn against each other while competing for them.
