Porsche, popular for making pricey luxury cars, announced the launch of a Starship. The company unveils the space vehicle on 16th December 2019 in Los Angeles, at the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The movie is about the surviving Resistance and the challenge they face from the First Order. It follows the journey of Rey, Finn and Poe Daremon. Also, the movie likely features the final battle with the trio armed with the power and knowledge of generations behind them.
Porsche partners with Lucasfilm Ltd in the creation of this futuristic space vehicle. Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter is a catchy name for an action figure vehicle.
The vehicle is 1.5 meters long from front to rear. Porsche places its signature light bar on the rear of the vessel. Like is characteristic of a battle spacecraft, it has two long gun barrel at the tip called ‘blasters’.
Speaking on the design of the miniature space ship, Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche at Porsche AG, stated:
“The design of the spaceship is harmoniously integrated into the Star Wars film world while at the same time demonstrating clear analogies with the characteristic Porsche styling and proportions.

“The basic shape of the cabin, which tapers towards the rear, and a highly distinctive topography from the cockpit flyline to the turbines establish visual parallels with the iconic design of the 911 and the Taycan.
“The very compact layout conveys dynamism and agility, lending emphasis to the Porsche design features mentioned.”
On the partnership, Doug Chiang, Vice President and Executive Creative Director for Lucasfilm, said:
“This collaboration is an amazing opportunity to merge the design aesthetics of [the] Porsche and Star Wars.
“I found it to be creatively challenging and extremely inspiring.
“It is thrilling to infuse Star Wars with Porsche styling to create an iconic new spaceship that could exist both on Earth or in the cinematic universe.”
At the Los Angeles event later this month, the Star Wars latest release will not be the only attention grabber.
