Named after the spaceship traveled on by a group of scientists following a map of the stars found in artifacts on earth. This sci-fi movie trails two scientists on opposite sides of spirituality; one an unbeliever and one a believer. The entire crew encounters computer-generated imagery (CGI) terrors when they reach their destination.

Besides depicting the Christmas spirit of spiritual reflection, it has a memorable scene of Idris Elba and a Christmas tree as the movie happens around Christmas in the year 2093.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

When one thinks of sci-fi, Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit comes to mind. In Iron Man 3 however, he has to focus more on his ingenuity after he suffers from insomnia and worry because of his over-dependence on his suit.

Like Prometheus, it may not be about Christmas unlike The Polar Express but it is set at that time of the year where it is all shiny and glittery. So, it does qualify as a Christmas movie.
