Wikipedia has published a list of its most popular articles of 2019 and the list suggests that Thanos remains the biggest villain. Err… The end is near?
This year’s list of most popular Wikipedia articles is dominated by film and television series to a degree never seen before.
Sixteen of the top 25 articles are in relation to the movies and music people consumed in theaters and on their devices. At least five of those are a direct testament to the dominance of superhero films, including all three films that Marvel released in 2019.
Billie Eilish is the ninth-most popular article of the year. Her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? released in March 2019 debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 list, also making the entertainer the first artist born in the 2000s to have such a hit.
Two American elected officials, President Donald Trump, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also made the list.

Guide To Wikipedia’s Most Popular Articles
This dataset is complete up to 15 December 2019.
Wikipedia says articles with less than 10% or more than 90% of mobile views were removed, as it is also a strong indicator that a significant amount of the pageviews stemmed from spam, botnets, or other errors.
This data comes via research Andrew G. West, who put together a robust listing of the top five thousand most popular Wikipedia articles of 2019 here.
