Microsoft Edge Faces Language Problems Again Four Years Later

The new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge suffers some language glitches that threaten its popularity. However, this is not the first time Microsoft’s browser will be facing this challenge.

Back in 2016, users had complained about getting the browser in a language other than theirs. Despite having a primary language on their computers, Microsoft Edge came installed a different language.

A user, JoshuaWitte had complained:

“I have had my laptop for 8-9 months and everything has worked fine. However, tonight completely out of nowhere, my Microsoft edge browser switched the news posts to Japanese.

“The browser tells me that English is the default (and only downloaded) language. Everything else is in English, but the news feed is completely in Japanese. How can I revert it back to English again?”

Now, it is 2020, amidst the war of browsers and Microsoft fell short again. On 15th January 2020, the day its Chromium-based version became available for download, users started lodging complaints on Twitter. One tweeted:

On 16th January 2020, the team posted that they had fixed the issue. The speedy resolution of the problem shows that Microsoft is aware of the competition in the market. Every other browser is updating settings and privacy to attract more users. No one wants to be left behind.
