How To Use The Newly Launched WhatsApp Dark Mode

WhatsApp joins the rank of online platforms that allow users to switch to the eye-friendly Dark Mode. However, it is not yet available for everyone as only those using the tester version can access it. Wabetainfo announced the latest launch in a Tweet:

According to a Wabetainfo article, WhatsApp included the Dark Mode feature in its recent submission to the Google Play Beta Program. This makes it the latest version of the chat app, v 2.20.13.

If you want to use this feature, you will need to update your chatting app to the 2.20.13 Android Beta. This is good news for the many who already have access to the latest function.

You can try to download this updated version by following this link: Download WhatsApp Beta for Android. If it doesn’t work on your device, you may have to wait for the company to roll it out for mainstream use as it is still in the testing stages.

After installing the supported version, users can then activate the Dark Mode by opening the Chats option from WhatsApp Settings. Also, there are other settings besides the all dark background.

There is the light theme which is the usual white theme and Battery Saver option available on Android 9 and lower versions. This allows the app to automatically switch to light/dark depending on your Battery Saver settings.

With WhatsApp Dark Mode now up and running and soon coming to all its current app versions, the company is measuring up against competitors.
