M-Net (West Africa) Director Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu revealed during the show their readiness for a new season. She stated that they are set to award outstanding African films after last year’s break. She also added that the break was due to the financial strain of hosting the first Big Brother Nigeria edition in Nigeria.

AMVCA’s 7th edition has a 27th category tagged “The Multichoice Talent Factory” Award. The judge-based category acknowledges talented film students around the continent.

The full nominee list for the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) was announced on 6th February 2020. Linda Ejiofor and Ibrahim Suleiman then unveiled the nominations on all Africa Magic channels on MultiChoice’s DSTV.

There will be 28 categories for awards at the event with seven open to public voting. Meanwhile, the AMVCA panel of judges will decide the remaining 21 categories.
