African Giant album maker and Grammy-nominated singer Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has released his first single for the year 2020 titled “Odogwu”.
Listening to the song, one will think the song is by a musician of Igbo origin. It brings sounds from the Nigerian eastern part to Afrobeat. With this song, Burna Boy further proves that he is a versatile artist that can sing to any beat and that culture is not a barrier.
To say the artiste is talented will be an understatement, as “Odogwu” thus proves that Burna is ready for 2020.
“When I reach Igbo land them calling me Odogwu. As I enter the town I put am for Agu, and Nobody can stop you because we dey fly pass oh, over any obstacle calling me Odogwu”, says the lyrics of the chorus.

Late last year, Burna Boy was nominated in the ” Best World Album” category for the 2020 Grammys. However, on 26th January 2020, he lost to the Beninese music legend, Angelique Kidjo.
In her award acceptance speech, Kidjo praised Burna Boy as one of the new breeds of African music. 2020 is already looking like it will be another beautiful year for the artiste, as his fans are already jamming to “Odogwu”.

Burna Boy had recently faced criticism because of his statements on social media. Many had called him out as being too proud and egotistic.
