The Los Angeles Police has arrested Kenneth Petty, husband of popular rapper Nicki Minaj. His arrest is over his failure to register as a s*x offender in California according to TMZ.
Reports reveal that law enforcement agents had pulled Kenneth over in Beverly Hills in November 2019. Then the authorities found that Kenneth Petty had not registered as a s*x offender in California. Kenneth eventually got released on a $20,000 bond.
It was expected that he would register as a s*x offender in California and any other new in the US that he moves to. That wasn’t the case as he failed to do so.
In 1995, the police arrested him and jailed him for first-degree attempted r**e. He served almost 4 years in a New York state prison for the crime and after that, he was required to register as a s*x offender.

Petty latest battle with the law means he will be under pretrial supervision. According to reports, he has already surrendered his passport. His travel will be restricted to Southern California for now.
Although the prosecutors wanted him placed under house arrest, his attorney objected. Instead, Petty is only being required to wear an ankle monitor until it is time for his trial. If found guilty he is may spend 10 years behind bars.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty got married on the 21st of October 2019. She had faced criticism over their union but had defended it time and again. Will the news of Petty’s arrest put a strain on their marriage which is just a few months old?
