24 Hours After His Birth And Name Were Announced, X Æ A-12 Tops Trends On Twitter

Levitation, machine and alien memes are leading tweets on why there are already 1.09 million posts about X Æ A-12 on Twitter within a space of 24 hours after Elon Musk announced the name.

Here are a few examples:

And the Tweets show no signs of stopping as well. Initially, when Elon Musk had announced that the son he had with Grimes would be named, X Æ A-12, we had mistakenly taken it as one Twitter antic.

However, we can now confirm that this will really be the child’s name after, his mother, Grimes confirmed it via her own Twitter account. She had posted the meaning of the child’s name to show that they were really intent on giving the child such an unusual name.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, had posted:

She broke down the individual characters of her son’s name and gave their meanings. According to Grimes, the letter X means what it means in scientific calculations; an unknown variable.

The other meanings were largely unexpected as she claimed that Æ was how Elves would spell AI and that it represents “love &/or Artificial intelligence”.

Meanwhile, she said the letter A was for her favourite song, Archangel and that the A-12 is a precursor to SR-17, “our favorite aircraft”, Grimes concluded.

However, the aircraft Grimes might have been referring to was likely the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. This is because the SR-17 is actually a very old aircraft that first flew in 1938.

Yet, Grimes did not explain how people are to pronounce the child’s name. Until we get that, we will keep calling him, X Æ A-12.
