She was found dead on Saturday night, more than a week after a manhunt was initiated to find her. Her family confirmed her dead body was one of the two bodies found by the Talhasasse police on Saturday.
The same day she went missing, Toyin wrote a thread on twitter detailing how she was molested by a “man of God” who offered to give her refuge. According to her, the man had “offered her a ride back to the church” she had sort refuge from due to “unjust living with conditions”.

Anyways I was molested in Tallahassee, Florida by a black man this morning at 5:30 on Richview and Park Ave. The man offered to give me a ride to find someplace to sleep and recollect my belongings from a church I refuged to a couple days back to escape unjust living conditions.

Speaking to Democrat Tallahassee, her friend Deyana Hemphill described late Toyin as a light in a dark room. “Toyin was very passionate,” said Hemphill. “She was very vocal she was very loving, very spiritual, very caring.
“Toyin she was like a light in a dark room. That was Toyin.”
While she was alive, Salau with a speaker would call out the names of people who’d died from racial injustice.“I don’t want their names gone in vain,” Salau said during one protest in front of the Tallahassee Police Department last month.
Deyana Hemphill, 22 also wrote on Twitter alleging that Oluwatoyin’s brother was molesting her and was the reason she fled her home for the church she was living before she died.
Imagine r****g & abusing your own sister, she ends up missing, so you start a go fund me with no one realizing you are one of her abusers, and together the world gives you $10,000 bc your sister is found dead.
