Happy Father’s Day dads! It’s that one time of the year for fathers to be celebrated and it’s often very difficult to get gifts for dads than every other person in the house. Not that they don’t deserve it, good fathers deserve good gifts more especially on father’s day.
One thing many dads seem to have in common is some form of love for technology. From cars to flashlights, it almost seems like dads were pre-selected by society to solve most of the house’s technology needs in their generation especially in our part of the world.
Maybe a PlayStation 5 console would be out of place, but here are some gifts you could get your dad if he’s tech-savvy;
Smartwatches
Many adults are conscious of their health and prefer to pay more attention to their vital signs as they age. The reason is, by keeping and staying healthy, we can have them around for longer. Many smartwatches offer heart rate, steps, sleep, and GPS monitoring.
The watches often require apps which help sync the watch to their smartphones and helps them properly monitor the vitals. You can get a Fitbit, Apple, Samsung, Redmi, Huawei, and other lesser-known smartwatches.
Smart TVs
Whether his interest is news, sports, or maybe even movies, a smart TV means your dad has more options to view whatever content he prefers. From cooking tutorials or earning a new topic on YouTube to just streaming movies on Netflix, your dad will enjoy premium entertainment. A TV is bold and is on the wall for the whole house to see, and your happy father will declare, “My child got me that”!
Tablets
If your father enjoys reading, one thing you can do is get him a tablet so he doesn’t have to squint his eyes or even use his reading glasses. All he needs to do is adjust the font size and he is good to go. If screen brightness is an issue, you can adjust to a preferred brightness and connected to the internet, he can read his favorite books, novels, or even news.
He could also watch movies, make video calls with the family, and even keep in touch with friends.

Wireless Speakers
Some will say music is the spice of life. Just imagine you gift your dad a quality wireless speaker and preload his favorite music in a memory card accompanying the speaker! He’d dance! Highlife, Soukous, Afrobeat, Blues, or just some Gospel, he’d waltz every time the songs fill the air, and it would indeed be a happy father’s day for him. It will also be a great company whenever he is alone and could help him plug into news and stay informed.
LED Smart Bulbs
This can legitimately help your dad lower his electricity bills and help him save some money. The bulbs will help him reduce his consumption and will even keep the light on even when the electricity goes off.
For some brands, like the Phillips Hue LED Smart Bulbs, he might even be able to adjust the brightness of the light as he pleases. He will also be able to do this without leaving his seat using a home assistant.
Power Banks
You don’t want your dad’s smartphone, watch, or wireless speakers running out of battery because he is on the road and doesn’t have electricity to charge them. You can get him power banks of 5,000mAh to 30,000mAh depending on what you think will be his need.
Surge Protector
So your dad has all these fantastic gadgets, do not let bad electricity ruin it. Secure the gadget by plugging them into a surge protector and prevent the eventuality of him having to fork out more money to have them repaired or to get a replacement.
Remember to call your dad and have his grandchildren on the phone if he has any. This one time this year, till the next, Happy Father’s Day.
