Nick Cordero popular for his roles on Broadway has died after spending over 90 days in ICU from Coronavirus induced complications. The actor starred in hit musicals including “Waitress”, “A Bronx Tale”, and “Bullets Over Broadway”. He was aged 41.

“God has another angel in heaven now,” his wife Amanda Kloots posted on Instagram confirming his death. “Nick was such a bright light. He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help, and especially talk. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband.”

Cordero was admitted to the emergency room on 30 March and had a series of health setbacks including mini-strokes, blood clots, sepsis infections, a tracheostomy, and a temporary pacemaker implant. Because of his critical condition, he was placed on a medical induced coma. His right leg was also amputated on April 18 after his low blood pressure continued to cause complications to the foot.

Despite eventually being declared coronavirus-free, he continued to battle infections, unstable blood pressure, and other complications. During his treatment, Kloots who’s also a fellow Broadway Alumni shared the progress of Cordero’s battle against the coronavirus via her Instagram. A lung transplant was also being explored and GoFundMe was created to help raise funds for Cordero’s soaring medical bills. He finally passed on Sunday at the Cedar Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
