Nigerian music sensation Rema on September 28th went on a long angry Twitter rant that got everyone wondering what sparked him off.
Rema, 19 started off tweeting about his style of music and people criticising him for not conforming.
When we in the same room together don’t label me proud or rude because I don’t smile, talk or laugh to your jokes.

Niggas feel I’m disrespectful, they want me to alert them before I drop.

Then he went to talk about his family and his struggles to break into the industry. According to him, he got where he’s today by sheer hard work and talent and not because of his big management.
Niggas don’t wanna see a kid win, they feel I got it too easy. I shower with my sweat, we go off on this side like the days in BENIN it got nun to do with my deal, come and sign these papers without a hustler spirit, you gone lose! Management gone change my password now lol 💀

Rema who’s signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavins said it was producer Ozedikus who sneaked him some of the beats he made into hit music.
I climbed this cliff with bunch of rejected beats. Some niggas hate me because of that.
— REMA (@heisrema) September 28, 2020
Ozedikus took risks for me, he was under a management with guidelines. He sneaked beats to me so I could record when my first engineer left me because we couldn’t pay him at the time. All the beats Ozedikus sneaked are now HITS.

While there’s still no explanation for Rema rants and who exactly it’s directed at from his end, many speculate that an altercation ensued between the artist and the DMW crew during Sunday nights BBNaija grande finale where both Rema, Mayourkun, and Davido performed.

Many alleged that Perruzi slapped him during the event, something Perruzi has come out to deny. Also, a source told Pulse TV that Rema had felt disrespected by the 30 BG gang and Rema felt disrespected during their meeting.
“While things didn’t really boil over beyond control, I do know that words were said and disrespect was involved. It looked like members of Davido’s camp felt disrespected by Rema and Rema in turn felt disrespected.” the source said.
This was corroborated by a member of the 30BG crew, Dremo tweet:
That teddy bear is rude lol #bbnaijalockdown2020

At some point Don Jazzy, his manager was alerted but Don seemed to be enjoying the show as he made no move to stop his protege.

Burna Boy also joined in, congratulating Rema for being part of a “dying breed.”
It’s not too often (probably never) that an artist from Nigeria says something so real that a nigga like me can relate to. You are one of the last of a dying breed. Don’t ever let them break you or change you. https://t.co/vvRnpC12if

Would this develop into a full-blown battle of the stars? We would see.
