Have you ever noticed a particular person’s content always messes with your mood making you angry or sad? and you somehow let them? This is because you’re yet to arrange your social media timeline to suit what you want.
Social Media is continually being flooded with information. People are posting pictures, sharing opinions, think pieces and news and other e-messages a billion by the minute.
This is why it’s important to curate your social media, cutting down to only the kind of content you want to see. Curating simply means arranging your timeline to show only what you want to see or interact with.
First, you’ve to decide, what do you want to see? Do you want to see news and politics? Is it just comedy; funny videos, skits, and memes? Do you also want your feed to be filled with inspirational and uplifting quotes and messages? When you’ve decided what you want you see the most, go on to follow or add people with that kind of content you want.

Also, take note of people who always share negative content or ones that upset you. Now, these people don’t have to be strangers. They can actually even be a friend outside of social media. However if their persona on social media is negative or upsetting you’re at will to mute, unfollow or even block them.
If you keep stumbling upon a particular content, whether it’s being retweeted or reshared on your TL, you can use the keywords and mute them. Protecting your mental health should be your priority, something social media can easily upset.
After you’ve done this, go on to follow or add people who share similar interests with you. People whose ideas and opinions resonate with yours. This will not only build you, you may even make friends for life.
Finally, regardless of what people think, you can actually control your social media to a large extent so find what you want and enjoy the experience to the fullest.
