Since the protests began, several international celebrities have spoken up, condemning police brutality in Nigeria. Kirk Franklin, Trey Songz, Viola Davis, footballer Mesut Ozil, Kanye West, and most recently Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey have put up the #EndSARS hashtag on the social media, in solidarity with the movement.

Tiwa Savage urged Beyonce and her Parkwood Entertainment team to lend their support to struggle as well.

“Dancers, creatives. I’m calling on Beyonce and her team. The same way they used their platforms to elevate and show the world that black is king and how beautiful Afrobeat and Africa and our culture is. I want them to please use their voice and their platforms right now because the same country that birth this genre is on fire. Right now. It is on fire. Where these creatives are from is on fire,” Savage said during the Instagram livestream.

“Because we all celebrated Black is King,” Savage added. “I personally was so proud of that project but please you cannot be quiet on this. You cannot.”

Tiwa Savage shared that she might get blacklisted for what she’s doing but she has no choice.
