Tesla is about to reveal a new all-electric SUV called The Tesla Model Y. The new car will be unveiled on March 14 in Los Angeles, California. The details are still sketchy, but the SUV is rumoured to be bigger than the latest Model 3 sedan.

CEO Elon Musk was recently in trouble with regulators over his social media habits. Musk, however, chose Twitter as the medium to explain that the Model Y will be an SUV about 10% bigger than the previous Model 3.

On his pinned tweet, he also reveals that the car prizes go up by -3% soon, encouraging customers to buy as soon as possible.

The SUV will be built using most of the Model 3’s existing parts. That could make it easier for Tesla to get some production-ready vehicles out the door more quickly.

Tesla recently announced a few updates dedicated to increasing charging speeds for all its vehicles, including the reveal of its V3 Supercharger, an updated charging method.

The brand is still testing the updated charging station with select owners and will break ground on the first public V3 Supercharger location next month. The Model 3 sedan will be Tesla’s first vehicle to support the faster-charging speeds.

Tesla is now looking to expand production with a manufacturing facility in California and another already in operation in Shanghai, China to build more affordable vehicles for its overseas customers.

The foremost brand in electric cars, Tesla is constantly regarded as the future of the automobile. Their plan is to “accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”.
