Twitter is bringing a host of new updates to sharing features on the platform such as retweets, share tweets, and so on. Here is a brief summary of everything you need to know about them.
One of the first updates came to the Retweet button on Twitter. Twitter began giving more priority to the ‘Quote Tweets’ feature ahead of the simply ‘Retweets’ feature. Now, when you tap the ‘Retweet’ button, you see the ‘Quote Tweets’ composer first. However, you can still simply retweet by not typing anything in.
One of these updates is temporarily prompting Quote Tweets instead of Retweets.
We heard your overall feedback and understand that some of you, like artists who share their work on Twitter, value Retweets. You can still Retweet by not adding anything into the QT composer. (2/2)

Also, Twitter now applies a label to Tweets that may have broken the platform’s misleading information rules. Additionally, the label will provide further context on why the Tweet breaks Twitter rules.
In the first half of 2020, Twitter had mentioned that it will start prompting users to open an article first before retweeting it. On 21st October 2020, the platform announced that it has begun rolling out the feature for users.
Another feature that is coming to Twitter concerns how users share Tweets. In August 2020, it started making the top apps appear when iOS users tap the ‘Share Tweet’ icon. Today, 22nd October 2020, Twitter also began rolling it out for Android users, “If you see it, give it a try,” Twitter said.
