Twitch has announced it will be holding a virtual TwitchCon event this year named GlitchCon. This is understandable due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event will now hold on 14th November, 2020. Twitch calls the mascot in its logo a Glitch, thus, it can be deduced the name of their new online event is in reference to it.
Twitch, in June 2020 canceled its TwitchCon event in San Diego which was scheduled for 25th September to 27th September 2020. They also canceled a similar event in Amsterdam in March 2020.
The company took to Twitter to announce the timing and venue of Glitchcon with a video urging viewers to “step inside with us”.

The video said:
“Important announcement from Twitch. Numerous glitches have been observed on Twitch. Our engineers have been working around the clock to debug the issue”. Then it went on to announce the event “as a portal to another dimension”.
Because no fun was ever had by NOT going into an interdimensional portal.
Step inside with us.

TwitchCon is the platform’s flagship event, helping to bring together its numerous communities of streamers and fans together. GlitchCon on the other hand will try to achieve the same thing, only this time, it will be strictly online. Twitch has, however, not provided further details on what to expect at the event.
