Amazon sent out an email to its customers informing them that some of them may not receive their Xbox Series X orders as expected. The company says it expects to ship some consoles in the coming weeks as they receive more inventory in November and December.
According to Amazon’s estimates, those affected by the delay will get their orders on 31st December 2020 or before.
“Hello,
We’re contacting you with an update regarding your order of Xbox Series X. We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December. At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” the mail read.

Some customers who preordered the PS5 in September 2020 also received a similar mail. Amazon had warned that it won’t be able to fulfil some orders on 12th November 2020. The company sent that mail some days after it started taking the preorders.
It is expected that Amazon will deliver the Xbox Series X sooner than the said date. However, the mail gives it more time to fulfil the orders without backlash. It is also expected that the reason for this is that the number of preorders for the consoles exceeds its initial projections.
