Funke Akindele Bello and JJC Skillz are smiling to the bank as her as their film “Omo Ghetto (The Saga) has emerged the highest-grossing film of 2020. The film marks their first directorial collaboration.
From the premiere to its tour of cinemas it was a financial tsunami that swept all box office records in its wake. In its first weekend, the film by Funke Akindele Bello made a whopping ₦89 million. It was a record second to none in Nigeria in 2020 regardless of its release date which was 25th December 2020.
Next in line to “Omo Ghetto” is “Fate of Alakada” which came a distant second raking in ₦113 million. The film was released two months away before Funke Akindele money-spinner. On the third spot is “Rattlesnake.”

The sequel to her 2010 “Omo Ghetto” film debuted on Christmas day (25th December). It stars an impressive list of Nollywood stars. Some of them include Chioma Akpotha, Eniola Badmus, Tina Mba, Racheal Oniga, and the Funke Akindele Bello who plays the dual role of Ayomide and Lefty.
“Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” follows the tale of twin sisters leading separate lives. However, they are reunited by a series of dramatic twists.
Cinema lovers who have watched the film have nothing but good things to say about the blockbuster and the cast. Thumbs up to Funke Akindele Bello and JJC Skillz.
