Tinder has entered a collaboration with Lyft to offer the ability to gift rides to dates without leaving the Tinder app. This is like adding video chat in the Lyft app, allowing you to focus on talking to your date without switching to another app.

Tinder says the Lyft integration “slated to roll out in the coming months”. According to Tinder, Lyft’s safety features like location sharing with family and friends will be available from the Lyft app for gifted rides.

“Features are slated to roll out in the coming months, and exclusive perks may also be available,” the company said.

There is no visual for the feature yet or even more information on how it will work in the app.

“Like any relationship, it’s about the right place at the right time and there really is no better moment for our brands to work together. We’re excited to partner with Lyft and work on innovative solutions for our members who are looking forward to getting back out there. Swipe activity hit 3.4 billion on January 3rd, which was one of the busiest days of the entire pandemic,” David Wyler, SVP of Business Development and Partnerships at Tinder said in a statement.

Although it sounds like a potentially great addition there are also many relevant questions. Where Lyft will pick up the date? Is it safe to give a date, you’re not sure you’d like, your home address?
