Nigerian tweeps have dragged fashion influencer Denola Grey after he showed his support for Lil Nas X’s new video “Montero (Call my name)”.
The rapper whose real is Montero Lamar Hill released the video for the song on Friday 26th March. In the video, he travels through a fictional land in an str**per’s pole, kissing an alien and giving the devil a lapdance.
“In life, we hide the parts of ourselves we don’t want the world to see. We lock them away, we tell them ‘no’, we banish them. But here, we don’t. Welcome to Montero.” the voiceover at the top of the video says.
Denola Gery on his part took to his Twitter page to applaud the rapper on the release of the video. He revealed that Lil Nas X is doing so much for the queer youths and something unheard of in the rap community.
Lol Nigerians are going to lose their s**t over Lil Nas X’s new video and honestly that’s their business. I Stan the young fellow. He’s doing something unheard of in the rap community. It’s going to mean so much to a lot of queer youth.

This tweet did not sit down well with Nigerian Twitter users who dragged the model for supporting Lil Nas X s*xuality. Some also stated that Denola Grey may just be announcing that he is also gay in a subtle way.

Lool. If they lose their s**t over Lil Nas new video, it won’t affect him in anyway, Dens.
Now, a Nigerian queer man was at ABJ protesting and you didn’t tweet in support of him when it can go a long way.— Tony Francis (@obynofranc) March 26, 2021
