Weight gain is usually a big deal for new mums. They spend time feeding their toddler expecting that the routine results in a chubby baby. It’s almost an obsession for some new mothers. But some babies are genetically lean.
So the appearance of your child isn’t a correct indicator of how healthy the child is. Instead, a body mass index (BMI) can be used to determine body weight.
If you want your baby needs to put on some weight, below are nutritious Nigerian foods for weight gain.

2. Yam and beans porridge
The more readily available beans in Nigeria are white beans and brown beans. Brown beans are most recommended, but be sure your child doesn’t have a bean allergy. When combined with white yam, giving your baby tighter muscles with its vitamin C supports healthy bone and fibre that keeps your baby full for an extended period. The red oil shouldn’t be too much. Then add some seasoning and stock cubes and mix well.
