OpenAI is allegedly testing a paid version of its popular chatbot, ChatGPT, in a limited capacity. According to a report by Engadget, the company created a waitlist for early testers to join the ChatGPT premium program.
It is not yet clear how much of a difference the paid version would be but we read that it will be without limits, no downtimes, no throttling, and as many messages as possible.
OpenAI is targeting professionals who want to use the service to make their work easier, the report claims.

People familiar with how the tech industry works expected a ChatGPT premium the first time they took the software for a spin. Its parent company’s CEO, Sam Altman, had also revealed that each message the service generated cost it a few cents and in the long run, it is impossible to keep it running for free.
Besides adding new feature to the paid version, it is likely that OpenAI will add restrictions to the free version, to encourage more people to start paying for it. However, the free version will not go away completely.
With the company eyeing a revenue of $200 million in 2023 and $1 billion in 2024, paid subscription has always looked like the way for it to go. The decision makers are yet to decide on how much it will cost to use the ChatGPT premium and waiting for feedback from its trusted testers.
