Veteran Nollywood actress Victoria Inyama has a word of advice for Nigerian women. To avoid getting r*ped, the actress has charged women to dress decently and properly.victoria inyama

The mother of three made the call in a video posted to her Instagram page on July 31st. According to her, the Nigerian government is not ready to attach severity to the crime of r*pe in the country. Thus, women should protect themselves by dressing decently to evade being r*ped.

“Appropriate Dressing & Comportment. It’s obvious to me that the Nigerian government is not really ready to put a fixed penalty to R*pe. And so l beg my ladies (minus the minors or aged victims) to plsssss dress in appropriate clothing so as to reduce the trigger for the perpetrators,” she wrote.

Victoria Inyama also added that some r*pe perpetrators are mentally sick. Because of this ailment, some sorts of clothing could trigger them into r*ping people.

“A lot of these Perpetrators have underlying mental health issues & being around them in certain clothing is a trigger…..sadly the victim still gets to be shamed & ridiculed, so since this government is not ready to do much, it would be wise to safeguard yourself.”

Yes, it’s not about the dressing some will say & compare with Europe & America but remember they take R*pe cases seriously unlike Nigerian…..Think about it #notorape #notodomesticviolence“.

She later added a post of Elisha Abbo, the Adamawa senator who assaulted a woman in a s*x toy shop and how the case was struck out of court to further buttress her point.

This is coming after a series of r*pe cases have been reported in the country, even from well-known celebrities. DMW singer Peruzzi was accused of r*ping a girl which he promptly denied. We recently saw how the saga of D’banj and Seyitan, the girl who accused him of r*ping her in 2018 unfolded.
