Adele sat down with Oprah over the weekend to discuss her love life, divorce and her forthcoming album “30”.
Her two-hour special, “Adele One Night Only,” aired on CBS Sunday was a combination of a concert in Los Angeles interspersed with clips of her interview with the Lady O herself, in the same rose garden she took Harry and Meghan bombshell interview earlier this year.
During her openhearted with Oprah, Adele discussed her divorce and how anxiety attacks from it led her to exercise so much she lost 100lbs during the past 2 years.
“I had the most terrifying anxiety attacks after I left my marriage,” she explained. “They paralysed me completely, and made me so confused because I wouldn’t be able to have any control over my body.”
After realising that going to the gym reduced the anxiety attacks, she kept going every day.
“That really contributed towards me getting my mind right,” she said.

The 33-year-old’s weight has always been a topic for public discussion, and her weight loss was no different. She’s been criticised for abandoning body positivity by losing weight.
“I’m not shocked or even fazed by it. My body has been objectified my entire career. Am I too big? Am I too small? I never looked up to anyone because of their body…I was body positive then and I’m body positive now. It’s not my job to validate how people feel about their bodies. I’m trying to sort me own life out!”
She also said that the divorce shook her badly because she wanted her marriage to work.
“I’ve been obsessed with a nuclear family my whole life because I never came from one,” said the singer, whose father left home when she was just two years old.
“From a very young age [I] promised myself that, when I had kids, we’d stay together. And I tried for a really, really long time.”
The interview will mark Adele’s first TV appearance as part of her promotional activities for “30”.
